What recent event precipitated the no-start problem?

I am no tuner. However, for stock engines that won't start but have both spark and fuel, the first thing I would suggest would be to check whether the timing belt slipped.

is it possible that the basemap has it way too rich and it's flooding?

In this case, maybe he should check for the smell of gasoline in motor oil on the dipstick?

It might also be informative to know if the CEL is ON.

Does the downloaded hondata base map match with your motor?
