I have a turbo'd d15b vtec, soon to be over 300hp. I am not running an oil sandwich adaptor or an oil cooler, I know that this is highly reccomended. How many of you guys are running a setup with the sandwich adaptor? If anyone can reccomend some good brands for the cooler/oil sandwich adaptor, that would be great. Also I have read that if you use hose clamps and hoses they usually always come loose at high rpm and cause engine failure, what can I use insted?

You don't need an oil sandwich adapter for high hp goals. Just a week ago, i took my oil sandwich adapter off because it was a PITA when changing the oil filter. Damn thing would get unscrew from the block first instead from the filter

DO NOT get a sandwich. They are more pain then they are helpful.

 

I don't have an oil cooler because of the simple fact that I am using all my money to replace parts as they break, but I still believe there is no excuse not to run an oil cooler with a turbocharged setup. I've never had a loose line that couldn't be remedied by zipties, hose clamps, and/or barbed fittings. Unless I am reading the question incorrectly, sounds like people don't like messing with sandwhich adapters because they require a little extra work every 8-12k miles that the oil filter is replaced.

I bought a greddy sandwhich adapter and havent had a problem with it all

 

i bought a freaking $30 sandwich adapter and expected it to leak and ****, but it's been perfect so far. Really easy, i highly recommend it, but maybe i just got lucky.

 

Greddy and Flip, what type of oil cooler are you running with it?
