Default Some questions. New to the turbo honda game

Hi there everyone. I have a 93 5spd hatchback. It has a 1.5 in it. I believe it is a d15 because it is not vtec. But this old girl is my daily driver. But a lil boost would make the daily commute a lil more fun. Now is an intercooler required? Chrysler back in the day made the daytona, omni, labaron and other turbo with no intercooler. also can i use just a FMU or is a chipped PCM required? Im not looking for crazy high boost or amazing power and speed i am just looking a lil pick me up.

You dont NEED an intercooler, but it's highly recommended even if it is just a side mount from a DSM car (eclipse, talon, etc). Also, you can run an FMU but once again, not recommended, tuning with crome/uberdata is free provided you have an ecu for it (I believe its 140 or so for a non-vtec ecu). Go to phearable.net for more info regarding that ecu stuff. They're a bunch of great guys and helped me a lot before I ordered my Hondata S300 setup. Hope this helps
