listen mani wanna do it myself, i really do. I work about 65 hours a week, if not more. By the time i get home im dead tired. If i decide to install it myself, then i do. However i can get the $$ to get it done professionaly. Well see what happens but just please give me a rest, and stop calling me Private, if u noticed i am "Senior Drill Instructer Sgt Hartman"

Exactly. So ill install the FMIC. That will lower the price a bit im sure. I said to myself "How hard could this thing be to install.?"..............but if its going to take the pros who do it all the time a full day to do it......well its goin to take me much longer.


It would probably take me 2-4 days to get the kit on.......i could just go to work those days and the kit will still be installed. Then if something goes wrong its NOT on me. I wanna come home from work and have a beer and go on HCF.COM then hit the hay. Not wait for a ride to pick me up.....come home work 8 hrs on the kit......go to bed.......wake up 2 hrs later and work again. F that lol.

 

Ummm.... NO. More than likey they'll blame it on the parts you've purchased used and won't cover it. You'll have to take it to another shop and have them PROVE that installation was bad. All that time, you'll be paying court fees, etc. In reality, if they screw it up your *** out of some money and most people will be realistic and tell you to move on.

That's the worst idea I've ever heard. You'll pay $500 to get a $1200 turbo kit installed, but won't spend the extra $100 to get it tuned. That's freakin ignorant. You should just sell your turbo kit now, because you're a 15 year old kid who doesn't understand how important a good tune is. I've looked up your user account and saw how everyone at Turbo D16 is telling you to get your setup tuned, but you're too damn hard-headed to listen to them. That ScrappyDoo guy told you what you need to know - I hope you blow your motor up because you didn't listen. I'm going to laugh my *** off.

I've been on this forum for 1 day and have seen some ignorant shiet, but this takes the cake. GET IT TUNED!!!!!

Extra 100$? First of all buddy its 500$ for the tune. Im going to get it tuned 2-3 weeks after i get the kit installed. Im not 15 im 21 and i know how turbos function. Dont raise your voice at me, im asking for help here pal, not someone wishing me bad luck. Karma comes back around

First off, Md420, dont' encourage newbie flaming of senior members.

And second, BoostMaster, your comments are not helpful. Sarge has been asking for advice on here for weeks and probably went to another forum (Turbod16) for more advice. He isn't some snot nose punk newbie, he just doesn't know all there is to know about turbos. Instead of telling him how little he knows, why don't you enlighten him, and all of us for that matter, on how to tune his new set-up. Oh, I'm sorry... you dont' know? Then zip it. Anybody with a keyboard can type, "Get it professionally tuned." He has acknowledged the need for a pro tune so take your insults elsewhere. He has stated many times that he has to work overtime just for installation, which means he probably needs a few more shifts to get it tuned. I don't know where you get your lawnmower tune, but in the real world a decent tune is upwards of $400, if you want dyno time and any sort of datalogging.

I am sorry fo the rant, I just get frustratd when the only advice people give is "Spend more money."

 

Truthfully I wouldnt blame you for getting it done somewhere but one of the best things about doing it yourself is when you driving and something happens to the car, youll more then likely know where to start looking because you put it all in.

Truthfully, since civics dont use MAF you could install it peice by peice untill you finish. do the mani, turbo, and downpipe. Do the oil to the turbo at this point and the water if it needs water (not all turbos do though)

Next do the FMIC and run the piping from the turbo to the IC and from the IC up to the engine bay but dont hook it to the throttle body yet. Just slap a cone filter on the TB and leave it NA for now.

Next, do the boost gauge and any other electrical you may want to

Then you could do the engine mngmnt, and finishing hooking up the IC piping to then engine

BAM, your boosted.

If you do this all on different days you could do it whenever you are feeling up to it.


But droping it off and picking it up is tempting too.

 

I never ment to "encourage" anything I just agreed that it would be best as some time a.s.a.p. to get it tuned by a pro.
