Turbo charging d15b7
Ive found a Garrett T3 DIY Custom Turbo Kit for me car it comes with turbo manifold, turbo nd wastgate for $599 is this a good price nd could i run it on low boost say 6-7 psi on stock internals? my car is a 1995,1.5 coupe only 102bhp so want more power!
Is it a big job to do cause i was thinking of doin it me self.
thnx

with 6-7 psi, you should be safe, unless you got a lot of miles on the engine. You could be able to pull it off by yourself, but consider the fact that you will need to get all of the piping, the intercooler, and a downpipe. Downpipe could give you a decent amount of hassle, since you will have to modify your stock exhaust pipe to fit it (if you're going witha turbo, you should seriously consider changing your entire exhaust system.

Thanx for the info its done 140k but its bin well looked after, regular oil changes etc just want some decent power outta it as it to slow nd cant afford to insure a b16a.

what would you recomend for a d15 block with d16y8 head and intake mani...after i finish the head and intake swap i plan on saving to put forged rods and bigger pistons then turbo but would you recomend certian pistons or rods or anything eles?..and how much boost afte r do all that will i be safe runing?
when you get the pistons, make sure they will set the compression at what you want, as the head will raise it a bit. try to get about 9-9.5:1 for decent boost and driveable spool up. make sure you get forged pistons and rods. for budget rods, you can get b18 rods machined to fit. they should be good for about 300hp, and try to get them shotpeened when they are being machined.
cool thanks for the info...you think this setup has some decent potential?...im just getting started i will be getting the head and intake mani in early next week...i plan to put those on then save up for the internals and turbo, and exaust and all that good stuff..
