Default turbo hybrid?

hey my mum has an 03 hybrid. i was wondering if its a good idea to turbo it? i want to see how much mpg i can get out of that thing. and to my knowledge a turbo is the best tool to do that with.

or will it just die in a fire?

Ive never worked on one before, but im pretty sure they arent that easy to work on, besides all everything would have to be custom and it mite be pricey considering u dont have a fab shop.

if you want a turbo, you probably wouldn't gain any mpg, but that engine is probably too weak to get any real power out of it and the cost of building custom one of a kind parts and ecu tuning would be insane

gut the car one the inside, lexan window, carbon fiber everything, lower it, rear diffuser, aero mirrors, dish hubcaps, front lip spoiler, side skirts. all the weight and aero advatges would give you a few mpg and a higher top speed. but your mom might not like the loss of the creature comforts like ac and a radio.

so basically if u turbod it you would be tuning for maximum gas milage and not performance.......so it would be totally different.......if u just used a FMU like a 12:1 or a 10:1 it would drink fuel. Ud need a piggyback program that allows you to conroll the spark and fuel maps, so you could toy with it adding the right amount of fuel for gas milage.....honestly it sounds like a lot of time and money, just tell her to accelerate slower.....and lose some weight out of the car........

Reasons not to do it.

1. It's your moms car, wouldn't you rather spend that on yours because a turbo setup will cost the same to buy the parts be it for 2psi or 8psi.
2. Do you honestly think your mom will let you boost her car, I mean I may be wrong but if I called my mom and said hey I am coming over to boost your altima with a $2000 turbo setup she would laugh at me and say I'm stupid
3. There are far cheaper ways to get better mpg, make sure the tires are inflated properly, service the engine good, dont run the a/c.
