So, I am about to buy a 95 Si HB, and I want to put a turbo on it. My research says it has a b16Z6 motor. I want something that has everything included, gaskets, turbo, oil lines, etc. Does anyone have any experience with something like that? I am hoping to stay under $1000, and don't need to go too crazy with a fancy BOV or boost controller, I just want a reliable turbo kit so that I can squeeze a bit more oomph out of it. I've looked on ebay and see kits like this, what do you guys think?

You've got a lot of homework to do. Search this site (especially stickies), the web, talk to people who had done it before, etc...


That link you posted brings up like a 100 different kits so its nearly impossible to tell you whether or not they're "good"

 

my bad, that wasn't the link I meant to put there. sorry for that, fixed it. I've been searching, and it seems like most people spend a bunch more money than I want to spend. I just want to add a little boost, keeping the motor stock, and squeeze a little more from this engine. it seems like most people build their own kit based on other parts they have, I don't plan to build the motor at all.

Maybe a better question would be, is it possible to get a turbo kit, that will work reliably (low boost) for less than $1000? If the ebay kits are crap, fine, just let me know. thanks.

 

nevermind, just saw the ssautocrap thread. sorry for wasting your time, I was really hoping I could bolt up a turbo for less than a grand, but I want it to work more than once.

 

Less than a grand is tough, but can be done. Do a littlre more searching man, theres threads all over about building your own kit
