Default turbo timer

What's the difference between silver and black turbo timers? Is one metric based and the other not? Which is which, would they both work fine? I live in america so I don't want it reading KPH or something. Also, does anyone have any preferance with which one I should go with? I was planning on going with the greddy one. Help me out so I can make the right purchase.

Turbo timer? As in a shutdown timer???

Time is the same no matter where you're at. I hope all you guys with turbos are letting them cool down to 300* pre-turbo before shutdown.

There is no difference between the silver or black Greddy turbo timer, other than color. The time is measured in seconds, however if you set up the speed mode it is in KPH, obviously because it was made in Japan. I personally have a black Greddy turbo timer and love it. It has tons of different features and works great.

I always just try to drive my car easy right before i shut it down, or let it idle for 30-60 seconds, is a timer worth the money and time to install?

Thanx for the reply's guys! I realize that seconds are seconds everywhere but it does other things aside from the countdown feature. Just wanted to make sure I know what I was buying exactly. Another question I just thought of, instead of starting a new thread: How necessary is a fuel pressure regulator if I'm only running 6-7 psi or around 210 whp on a b16a2?

You should have an egt gauge??? Like I said, 300* read pre-turbo is the correct shutdown temp to avoid coking the bearing in the turbo.
