Default Turbo vs. supercharger?

Yea I just wanted to know what everyone thinks is better for
1. The Power produced
2. The price
3. The reliability factor

Are you for Turbos or Superchargers?

I agree Plus a lot of people don't think abou the whole weight thing
Turbos are actually lighter even with all the piping and intercooler.

I wonder if Superchargers are as tuneable as turbos

You can't turn the boost on a S.C. up and down as easily as you can with a turbo. You gotta change the pulleys to change the boost on a S.C. Thats one of the things i like about the turbo, you can turn it down for DD and the turn it up for the track. The S.C. does make power in the low end where the turbo makes power (alot more efficient power) in the high end.

Superchargers are for low end power--- for the most part!
Turbochargers are for high end power--- for the most part!

1. the power produced- turbo, especially if you can afford to beef up the motor
2. the price- depends on what motor you have, for D17's the turbo's are expensive as hell
3. the reliability factor- if a turbo's down correctly, it's reliable

I would go with the turbo....

I don't like super chargers on civics for 2 reasons...

1. it takes power, to make power....
2. the superchargers creature low end power, and I would be afraid of my tires spinning

These are my opinions and views, lets not start a flame war over them...

btw, Agent is right, you can 'tune'/adjust a supercharger but it's more of a bitch, with pulleys and the internals of the supercharger, as I understood it, rather than just turning a ****

S.C. create both high end and low end power. Its just that they have an advantage over turbos in the low end. The turbo has the advantage in the high end because it makes free HP and a S.C. you have to pay for the power.

But in order to have a super charger u dont have to beef up the fuel system or change fuel curves?
Yea I do agree I prefer turbos but Superchargers interest me

Your gonna have to do that regardless of if your goin with a supercharger or a turbocharger. Both these systems pump air into your engine and your gonna have to pump more fuel into your engine. So generally you get bigger injectors and a better fuel pump. Your gonna also need a tune to set up the correct fuel maps.
