Default Turbo'd D16, having cooling problems, need help....

ok, i can't seem to figure this one out. I turbo'd my d16y8 in my 98 civic. After I put the turbo in i found myoem radiator was leaking, so I puta new dual core fluidyne billet radiator in, new hoses, and a new thermostate. I am leaking coolant from the cooling system. It is coming from the oem overflow tank. The tank is filling up and leaking out, which in turnis causing the radiator to empty out eventually and make the car overheat. Now since the car is turbo'd, the coolant is running with much morepressure through the motor and I am thinking the overflow tank can't handle it. Do I need to get an overflow tank that is sealed on the lid unlike the oem one? Has anyone else had this problem? I just don't want to spend 100+ dollars on an aftermarket overflow tank to find out that it isn't going to help or the tank is going to explode under pressure or something. Anything would help. Thanks.

I don't think it's your overflow tank. Could it be your water pump?

I don't think so, nothing is coming out of the weep hole on the water pump, it is dry.

It's either a blockage or you've got a blown head gasket. Do you have oily coolant? Whitish or bluish black exhaust? Or ^^^ something small as that.

Yeah, the new radiator came with a new cap. It could have a blockage. I will take it and get it flushed and see if that helps any. The oil isn't milky at all, and I don't think I have any blue smoke coming out, I have a little bit of black smoke, but I'm not worried about that. I hope it's not a head gasket. But then I kind of hope it is. It would give me a good reason tell my wifey that I had to pull the motor and build it up, he he[&:]. So any other ideas that anyone can think of? I just can't figure out why the overflow tank would be filling up and overflowing. Hmmmmm.

You're lifting the head under boost.

What are you tuned with...

your studs are stretching and pressure is being pushed into the cooling system pushing everything into the over flow. need some arps and a headgasket
