Um I blew up my d16. Something bad happened ......
I was driving yesterday and I decided to get after it a little and well it did ..... My boost gauge read about 24 Psi and then it blew up .... why?? and how did that happen??

 

TO MUCH BOOST!!! I would think... That seems like alot on a D16

 

Well I know too much boost, My wastgate spring was set at 7 Psi

 

Maybe the spring streched too much or was damaged some how. My teacher was telling me that somepeople would take the springs out of the wastegate and strech them, this would raise the boost. Maybe you had a defective spring?

 

What brand turbo do you have?

 

it wasnt a turbonetics wastegate was it? Those have a tendency to have a boost creep problem, and or something could of gotten stuck inside your wastegate and kept it shut.....

 

Or the vacuum line popped off.

 

im thinking it was an SSAUTO wastegate, you should run a boost controller if your unsure about it......was this an internal or external wastegate?
