I really want to make my car faster. I don't have a lot of money right now (not enough for a turbo or a supercharger) but I want to put one in. Does anyone know where I can find a cheap, reliable source?

 

Have you read all of the FAQ's pinned to the top of this section? If not I highly suggest that you do so. Once you've done that put together a REALISTIC budget. Don't include a 3K turbo kit if you know you can not afford it in near future. Start a savings account...put all of the money you're going to spend on the project into that account. Remember that if you run short of cash in the middle of the project you're well....screwed. Good luck.

Sit back a collect the money you are saving ong gas and just enjoy it

 

Nitrous... hella fast, CHEAP, do it right and don't be stupid and it will still last a long time if you don't try to race everyday all the time, use it when needed only. I've ran 3 cars now successfully for years on the gas, and yet to blow a motor. My 4dr 92 1.5L loves the stuff, and runs just like it as always has.[8D]

 

P.S. did I mention I walk all over most turbo D's with no mods and only a 60shot of dry nos, Im real close to taking the friends 01 prelude until about 60-70 mph and his torque gets me... Minor mods and I think we have ourselves a race!

 

Hm. Is nitrous much less expensive then? And how hard is it to install? And where would I get it filled?

 

I'm in philly. Nitrous, when done properly is only that much cheaper than a turbo setup...and you have to keep refilling it while the turbo is a permanent addition.

 

Buy bolt ons, do suspension upgrades, get a set of 15 inch lightweight rims, and be happy.
