2011 STI!!! Link to Motor trend
2010 Legacy GT. Do eeeeeeet
Seriously, those are amazing cars to drive and the 6-speed is smooth as silk; I mean, you have to try to shift rough in that thing. The only bad part is it's a split-case, so it's not quite as stout as the STI 6spd.
And I'm sorry, I thought this was hondacivicforum, not hondacivicfanboileghumperforum. We're allowed having opinions on whether or not Honda has lost the ability to make a good-looking car. The RSX was a decent looking car. The S2000 was flat-out sexy. The NSX was friggin' gorgeous. The civic si? Blah.
And telling a staff member to leave due to an opinion is never a good idea; even worse when you haven't even been here a month. Let me set the record straight since you don't know yet: I give one warning before handing out temporary bans. This is that warning. Be respectful of opinions and we won't have any problems.

1. I had no idea he was a staff member - when I had the job in a different forum, we were required to note that status in our sig.
2. Giving someone an UNSOLICITED and NEGATIVE opinion about something is something ESPECIALLY a moderator shouldn't do.
3. Getting a ban-warning for stating my own OPINION (as in if he doesn't like Civics to look elsewhere for a forum for cars he does like) is also wrong. But do what you will. Why is it OK for one person to state their negative opinion but not another? Same rules for everyone should rule.

No doubt it is...but that much money allows design flair to increase exponentially. They have little price point to worry about and the designers of the Civic have to appeal to a much larger audience.
That said, one last comment before I'm given the boot for disliking that someone (you) thinks my car is ugly (btw, not that I care you do, however, I do care that you felt it necessary to say so without provocation).
Earlier, you said that the only reason Civic Si's flew off the show room floors is because they were cheap. Here is a few other reasons...
Performance
Handling
Design (for some)
Price
Manufacturer reputation
Reliability
Gas mileage
Aftermarket support
All all factors that went in to my choosing to buy this over that. I'm sure many others also weigh their options on more than just price too....or there would be no $14,000 Fit's on the show room floor either - of which there were many when I was last at a Honda dealer 6 weeks ago.
Wait, so because I'm a staff member I'm not allowed to have and/or state a negative opinion? What kind of forum did you "work" for, thirdreich.net?
Anyway.. The fact of the matter is that we're comparing apples to oranges here in just about every category.
I never said the Si was a bad car. It's a great option if you don't mind FWD, aren't racing everything in sight, are on a tight budget and just want something mildly quick to get you from A to B reliably. All I was saying is that it's no Aston Martin in the styling department, and to think the cars' style is what moved them off the lot is a little silly.
The level of Performance and Handling you get in a Civic (or anything else, for that matter) is directly related to what you pay for the car. Theres a reason STi's are $12k+ more than Civic Si's (and no, I am not implying that it is $12k worth of styling).

Let me clarify. I warned you because you implied that anyone who isn't a honda design leghumper should leave the forum. Unsolicited opinions are to be expected anywhere on the internet (if you don't believe me, spend 30 seconds reading the comments on any automotive-related youtube video), and coming off as a douche isn't the best way to handle it. Remember that through the internet body language and verbal inflections are thrown out the window so everything is taken slightly more literally than it would if it were communicated through more verbal methods, meaning you need to take how your post is going to be taken into account when posting.
Oh, and as far as a staff list goes, we have several complete and updated staff lists posted throughout the forum.
And no, you're not getting banned yet since you actually took the time to defend yourself. Just keep the attitude in check and we won't have any problems; just remember you're going to get opinions on a public forum whether you ask for them or not.

So this is random here but ive decided that im gonna sell my hatch after college and get something like a 02-05 Si or something similar (ex. a mazda 3 speed)...any objections or opinions on what i should save up for instead? Im kinda set on a 02 Si cause theyre relatively cheaper but i just decided to post this here to kinda get yalls opinions since most of u are open minded about things other than civics
not that im tired of civics or that civics are bad im just sayin lol im prety much open to anything even kinda sporty and that has at least a lil bit of power. Thoughts please

It really depends on your price range. There are all kinds of best "bang for the buck" cars out there, just depends on what you can afford (payment + insurance + maintenance + ??????)
For instance, you can buy a 2003 Audi S4 for a relatively small amount of money, but you'll end up spending a fortune on maintenance
Just be sure you're taking into account all factors of ownership, not just what your monthly payment on the car will be.

Absolutely. I haven't heard many complaints about EP3s other than the lack of a 6th gear and the K20a3 instead of the a2.
On the other hand, there are better cars in the same price range. It all really comes down to exactly what you want feature-wise, what your price range is, and what you can afford as far as insurance goes.

Yah i wish the ep3s came with the K20a2 thatd seal the deal for me! lmao but yah see imat least waiting until i graduate from college so that ill have a VERY good paying job but that still doesnt mean that ima go out and buy a $15000 car right off the at cause i am banking dont get me wrong lol if i can get at least $4k for my hatch i have now, which im really wanting more but asking for $4k is already too high sadly
then thatd be a good @$$ down payment on a like $6-8k car haha deff thinking about an 02 Si cause theyre usually the lower priced ones, i kno im a cheap @$$ haha it would probably have more miles on it but thats okay. By the time i get one of them ill be used to doing my own maintenance on civics anyway lol oh and btw im gonna be going to Texas A&M to get my Mechanical Engineer degree thus me thinking that ill have a prety beastly job after i graduate

^what are you trying to get out of the new car acceleration, handling, styling? how about a price range $---- to $----? and keep in mind nearly any car with good pricepoint and good performance will have been beat on, you may be better off buying a lower trim level car and souping it up.
Probably handling and styling for the most part...and im liking the hatchback vehicles more but id be open to some sort of coupe haha im not 100% sure on anything but a EP3 as of now but what im thinking for the price range is between $6000 to $10000 AT MOST! lol i kno im a cheap @$$ but i think thats reasonable cause i can get like $4-$4500 for my current hatch so thats less i gotta save haha but as of now im between saving for a 02 Si (cheapest prolly) or a Mazda 3 Speed (idk what year for sure).
