I was out of town for a couple weeks so the PC was off, but my server is back up, you and your room mates are all more than welcome to play on it. and actually if you zip your levels folder and email it to me, i can paste your labyrinth onto my map so it can be there too. i did all the port forwarding lol

Did you see my contribution on the island east of the mainland? I brought a little bit of Japan to the server.

So playing on your server, I get lost in the rails, and then it runs out of memory and disconnects me. It was fun.

Ya very sick tower hobo.
And idk how it runs out of memory. 8gigs and 32gb of a SSD running as assist memory, must be the server client. Ill have to see how to tell it to use more memory.

It won't automatically use that much RAM. You have to tell it how much it can use. I believe the default limit is 512MB.

Because Minecraft is a Java based program, you have to change the parameters on the start file. Do you have some "starter" file that you use to start the server up? It might be a batch file. Open it and look for something that says:

-Xms1024M -Xmx2048M

or something like that. The Xms1024M means that it will start the server with 1GB of RAM (1024 MB). The Xmx2048M means that it will be allowed to expand to up to 2GB RAM (2048 MB).

I lost interest in MC for awhile but I got permission to set up a server at work for in-house use. Then I got mine at home back up and running. Anyone else still play?

Mine is still up, same old IP. It's a legit version but you're on the whitelist. It should let you in.

I tried getting into minecraft, and it is really neat, but I'm too much a fan of oldschool games and prefer the 2d sidescrolling of Terraria over the 3d of Minecraft. :P

16 bit FTW!
