Its a neon thats fast big deal. And better than that its a dodge.but at the track i hit 14.3,14.4 all day and them neons dont run much better than that best 13.8 stock.and all i have is a b16 in my quick crx with intake and exhaust and fuel upgrade.and now to the part of how long it will last because u know damn well everyone is beating the crap out of their cars so lets wait till 50 or 60k and see how good they hold up. Wile we all know that a honda will run for 100k wile beating the hell out of it.
auctally, no. the SRT-4 is NOT a neon. the body looks the same, but it isnt. why would dodge make the srt-4 and neon diffrent cars on the dodge site if they were the same? i cant stop stressing this fact.

anyways, [sm=smiley35.gif] to the guy who bumped this.

i'm sorry i have a '97 hatch w/'99 b16 heavily modded and An SRT-4...........my stock srt would hand my modded civic its *** any day. However now my srt-4 is modded and not too many vehicles have a chance. if your talking about reliabilty my srt has 21,000 and have yet to have a problem. For a civic to out run my srt its gonna have to pretty damn badass

Match the displacements up a little better (GSR motor), equalize them (by putting a turbo on the Civ) and mod it as close to the same as possible; SRT-4 won't stand a chance.

I mean, anyone could climb in an SRT-4 and burn a Civic with I/H/E on it, but if you even up the score (even a little), the tables turn right around.

i mean th eSRT-4 is a great car, if youre into straightline performance, its hard to beat. but again i say, i like the curves. and put a stock RSX-S on good tires, and ill take that over an srt-4 for the twisties anyday. let alone a swapped, coilovered, and big-braked and boosted civic.

im pretty sure its based on the neon chassis, though im also pretty sure Mitsu had a hand (or a few hands) in on the motor design. i mean, look at the valve cover, its identical to the older eclipse non-turbo, 420A ones. and its on different links on th edodge site because its not in the same class or marketing segment as the other neons.

Yeah. No way Dodge could build a turbo-4.
