If you make them yourself, you can do them for a few hundred... all you really need is a spare intake mani (in case you screw up), motorcycle throttle bodies (when I do mine, it's going to have CBR600RR stacks), and some big ***** (to cut apart a perfectly good intake mani)... I know I saw a DIY somewhere a while back... I'll see if I can't find a link.

Actually, I might just geta spare manifold and do some ITB's on my d16

itb's are pretty much an intake mani cut down to 1/3 it's size or so (so it's just runners) with a set of velocity stacks (the bike version ofthrottle bodies)from a bike welded on. Since there's now four throttle bodies, it can supply basically an unlimited amount of air to the engine (as compared to a standard filter-tube-throttle body-intake manifold system). This is especially useful with aggressive cams. Since you have four throttle bodies, they can be a good bit smaller than the stock single throttle body (and still pull in more air), but pull in the air at a faster velocity (the same idea as smaller exhaust tubing). But like an exhaust system, if they're too big, the air's velocity slows, and you can lose power. Generally, they're expensive and hard to tune, but one of the best upgrades for a N/A engine. From what I've heard, it's the best thing you can do to improve throttle response, too.
