I'm pretty anti-drunk driving ever since my buddy was killed last summer.

He was drinking at a festival up north.. Him and his brother got in the car and left the bar, hit some back roads to have a little fun, and ended up losing control around a corner. I guess it was pretty bad. My buddy was killed instantly, his brother was barely harmed...physically. His mental state was a different story, imagine seeing your brother dying beside you, and knowing theres not a thing you can do about it.

Not a day goes by thatI dont think about him....

You keep seeing these stories in threads because its an on going issue. Now people can put this link in their aim profile, and myspace, to show people what can happen when you say "I'm fine to drive" or "That wont happen to me."

It also happens from driving STUPID. Taking chances and then rationalizing by saying ignorantly, well it's my life and my car and the only one I'll hurt is me. We heard that kind of talk on this forum if you recall. Life doesn't have a "do over" button or reset . Too bad for the young lady involved and tough **** for the punkass!

^^ I think this is the primary reason. One can be drunk and still behave reasonably, and one can do stupid things being absolutely sober...

No, we talked about getting on it on the street every once in a while, not driving intoxicated. You're comparing apples to oranges. When you speed a little on the street you're still aware of whats going on, when drunk everything is impared and driving ten miles an hour on the stree still puts lives at risk.
