THe mustang had 300HP and the Evo has like 286 HP. But the mustang weighs more (200lbs). The Evo has AWD, so its gonna have a better launch (which it did). But the mustang has 320 ft lbs of torque to the 289 on the Evo. Shoulda been a closer race i think.

13.6 isnt that bad for a stock EVO and an amateur. I think it is listed at 13.2. You shoudl have seen some of his other runs, he was in the 14's.

I think those brake lights were just the way the sun was reflecting off of them.
Yeah it's not bad at all. I'm certainly not claiming I could do any better!

Closer than 13.69 to 13.88? As Sniper mentioned, the EVO is listed at low 13's, whereas the GT is listed at high 13's. That would seem to indicate that the GT driver had a much better launch, and didn't have much room for improvement, whereas the EVO driver could've done better. If you're saying it should've been a closer race based on the drivers then sure, but based on the cars it was already closer than it should've been.

Tushche. Me and my buddy were lookin at turbos/superchargers (for no reason, neither of us have cars). We saw a supercharger for a 05 GT. They claimed that the motor was makin like 470HP with like 8 Lbs of boost. For like 6gs that sounds pretty good.

Sniper, how did you know that both cars were stock?
I was looking them over in the pits and judging by the sound of them and the times, I just assumed.

Damn, yeah that's not bad at all. Helluva lot cheaper than a new vette.

Oh, yeah... makes sense Ever since I've gotten sucked into the whole tuning thing by you guys here, I'm always wondering what other people have under the hood. "Maybe it's just stock" is the last thing that ever crosses my mind anymore

That wat i like about the new Mustangs, they have a good amount of power for a really good price. A new mustang will run about 24-26K. Add the new supercharger (5K) and u got a badass car with nearly 500HP.

Before I bought my CX I was close to buying one of those cars (mustang, evo or STI). They would all be fun to drive. I never test drove the EVO or STI but the Mustang was a blast. The salesman was in the back seat kinda nervous... Although I would be also sitting back there. Great Vids although when I went to the track in Pomona I never saw an evo get lower than a 14. While the SRT-4s where hitting 13's easy. That LS1 was pretty sweet also.
