great discussion.

I can tell you from a 50 roll a stock 2006 z, will take a 425ft lb TQ c-5, and eat it ALIVE.

.02? the evo ran an 11.90, and the vette ran 12.18..thats almost three tenths..and i agree, that the race was won by the evo because of the launch, but the starting line is 80% of the actual drag race...

also, with 11.58@113, that C6 base model is by no means stock...i wish they showed the timeslips...

and racing from a roll is for people who cant drive a stick, or ricers...racing from a roll is like trying to screw with pants on..you might finish, but its just not right.

lol good point, that vid I showed was more so because of the launch abilities of the Vette. If that vette racing the evo would have ripped out of the hole like that it would have probly beat it. Oh well. I also do not do the race from a roll thing but in the same sense I veiw AWD's like the evo, sti, and others as cars for people who cant control a rwd on the drag strip. To me they are not worth it, you loose more power through the drive-terrain, more of a chance for things to break because of more moving parts, and they are dogs after they get to speed.

I agree unless of course it's a Busa. Gotta hit them from a roll or you are dead.

So what aspects of the evo swayed you to buy it vs the Vette?
