I didn't my wife did. It was in the shop with the clutch out and a boy offered us the pay off for it and we took it. She is wanting a new tahoe now that there out. I think if I put a little money back here and there by the time the evo x comes out it will be time for me to get something new and thats what I want.

 

I will also be in line for the X when it gets here. Ive heard rumors of as early as August of this year. I think I am going to hold out for 0% on one though. Im hoping it comes soon though cause Im not sure how long I could wait.


You shouldnt think of AWD cars as cars for people that cant launch a RWD car, as most AWD cars were never meant to be launhed, they are meant to be turned. Very fast.

 

I don't think we will see them in august. Would be nice tho.

 

What they are ment for and what they are used for are two different things. In a drag race after a certain amount of power is realized the AWD advantage gets shut down simply because the front wheels become like those of a front wheel drive. I am a drag race kinda guy though, not because I dont like road racing but simply because the closest raod course is some 4+ hours away and the closest drag strip which is NHRA/IHRA certified and holds alot of national televised events is 20 minutes down the road.

 

MD do you tend to get quicker times on the GREAT track just down the road from you vs other small tracks you have run on.

My point being I am curious if the QUALITY track prep at a world class track makes much if any diff in the times people see.

 

well it is the only 1/4 strip with in reach but there is another local 1/8 mile strip. I do pull better 60 foot times at Bristol(the 1/4 mile strip)

 

How far are you from Gatlinburg?

I go there for a 4 day weekend, 3-4 times a year. I really enjoy just watching the cars cruise on the strip.

Last summer I was in Gatlinburg the same weekend they had a classic car show in Piegon Forge. I KNEW I would see alot of classics out and about, but YIKES the exotics were unreal. I had never seen so many out and about in my life. When ever you would take a drive up one of the roads going to the time share cabins that dot the side of the valley, you would just get smoked by some sort of high dollar go fast machine. He11 half the time I didn't know what had just passed me.

 

I am only like an hour to a hour and a half from there(depends on how fast I drive lol)

The rod runs down there are kick ***. I was there about 7/8 years ago and seen a 71 Split Bumper running meth but being drove on the street. it was crazy the guy said it was pulling around 1100hp and mid 8's in the 1320. It is a cool place down there, i have the chance to go alot and when there is nothing going on it is really nice, rooms are cheap, and there are a ton of things to do.

I saw a group of 4 lotus factory cars there once.

 

I live in between MD and gatlinburg. Its a cool place. I have took all of my cars except the civic to the dragon. Me and some friends take our bikes over there in the summer.
