Default God I hate winter.

Or should I say, the transition from winter to spring.

Driving home last night, pouring rain, doing like 35 I all of a sudden got my eyes jolted out of my skull. That's right, pothole. Unfortunately it was about 6" deep and 18" across, and filled with water.[:@]

Didn't get a mile down the road before my pass front tire was completely flat. Got out, called my dad, he brought my spare tire (yea, it's not in my trunk!) and we changed it also in the pouring rain. Good stuff.

First thing I though, bent the rim. Got out of the car, I see this.

YAY! How the hell did I not bend the rim? So I take the wheel off.

D'OH!... [&:]

So, now I'm rocken the steelies till I can buy a new tire.

Unfortunately this wonderful engine build of mine is at the paycheck to paycheck point and I do'nt have the money for a new tire right now. I'm gonna try to salvage the rim since the damage is on the inside and I don't feel like buying another one.

On a good note, I even managed to blow the donut on the way home. [8D]

Yeah, I cut the sidewall on the tire so I need a new one of those, otherwise I'm just gonna torch and hammer it back in. It'll be a rear tire from now on though.

The worst part is, I have enough traction issues, these steelies and stock tires are giving me hell lol.

discount tire can fix rims that are bent. it might cost a little bit more than a hammer, but will certainly work better imo.

yeah, i would spend the couple extra bucks to have it done professionally, youll be pissed if you have a perma-vibration if you dont hammer it out just right. On the other hand, i understand the financial situation, but i think it would be worth it to put a little aside every week to do it right.

At least you got to drive your car in the winter!!

But that sucks about the rim, there are alot of pot holes over here at the moment to but are getting filled in. The rim doesnt look to bad..if you didnt blow the tire, I bet you wouldnt evenfeel it was bent.
