Default Honda video of 2006 iVTEC 1.8L engine

Hi,

Honda has a video on the Web showing the internal operation of the new 1.8L iVTEC as in the 2006 (non-Si) Civics, here:

http://world.honda.com/news/2005/4050705_a.html

Click on the "Watch the movie" link on the right side of the press release.

Regards,

Yea, it buffers a lot here where I work, too. I let it buffer with the window minimized for a long time, then tried playing it later, and that worked.

BTW: Nice Si, RaskyR1. Sigh...I'll get one when I retire...right now I need the "more practical" sedan for work stuff (haulin' PCs and stuff around), so the coupe is out. That said, I still enjoy tossing the '06 sedan around on the back roads. :-) I'll post pics of my new 2016 Si when I get there. LOL

Man good luck finding a good set of headers... the exhaust manifold is PUNY!!!they might as well just put catolytic converters directly to the block

they kinda did, the manifold is cast into the head which is not good for performance, so the only way to get more flow would be a port and polish. that might make a turbo manifold cheaper though, because it would be easy to make one

I saw a video on Vtec.net and it showed them dynoing a car just like my 06 coupe EX.

the final figures showed the car made 132 horsepower at the front wheels. the dyno guys said the new EX's probably made closer to 150-155 horsepower at the crank instead of the 140 horsepower Honda claims.

I certainly would agree. lol.
