I stilldont see why they put plastic over the headers on the K. won't it melt. b/c every other series has had a heat shield that is metal.

 

Well, I tend to keep my cars for 10 years. And, in 10 years, I hope to be retired, and will likely want a "fun" car like an Si. But for the work-a-day world I'm in now, an Si is just not practical for me. Finally, When I'm retired, I'll be driving less (no daily commute); then I can "baby" the car; and I might not mind needing 91 octaine gas (or what ever Si's will require then).

 

holy crap. thats a nice motor. I am impressed at the one piece rods and at the actual block itself. and the big *** bottom end brace that they incorporated the main caps into. very very nice. cant wait till the aftermarket gets ahold of that thing.

 

The engine is very decent power-wise for its size, but the throttle-by-wire system is mushy and non-linear. I'm not crazy about the the integral exhaust manifold either- it may flow better than a conventional detached exhaust manifrold, but I seriously doubt you'd make more power than a tubular header design.
