i would choose an sti over an evo any day of the week cheaper and faster
. i know two people in my town that have these cars and has the evo8 and the other 06 sti and the sti kills the evo everytime they race its awesome. the only thing i hate about the sti is those damn pink decals

Out of the box an evo is faster... but mitsu are not known for good reliability. However the Sti out of the box can handle better. All you would basically need to do is stick an exahust on the sti and it should be up to par with the evo.

Technically the sti pink is cherry blossom red. So it is red.
And if you read and watch enough shootouts I think you would pick the STi over the EVO. The only thing the EVO has going for it is the recarro seats
