Local dragrace day.

Local dragrace day.
Recently we had our local highschool challenge at the Maple Grove raceway, so I went down with a bunch of people from my old highschool to see what the car would run with the new tranny.
Wasn't very happy. Turns out the longer 2nd, although helping immensely with my 3rd gear shift, utterly destroyed my 1-2 shift and the car bogged terribly between that shift. For those that don't know, when dragracing tenths in the first 330 feet will cut a few tenths by the end. On average I was loosing .3-.4 tenths in the 330 and was only able to make up some of the lost ground. Not to mention I kept missing 2nd because the synchro is already ****ed.[:@]
Sooo, trial and error is the name of the game. I'm gonna try something different by going back to a stock 2nd and slapping in a shorter 3rd with the new motor next weekend. Should even out the trans a bit and now that I think about it... shorter gearing is faster no matter what way I look at it!
Anywho, sorry, video yes of course. 14.51 @ 101 was my best time of the day, it was also my first run. I didn't have a helmet (couldn't run anything faster than a 14.000) so I sandbagged the snot out of the launch (2.45 60' hahaha) and then gave it all it had. After the first runs the tracks traction went to hell and I just spun...
Ok Ok, movie I know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bQgQ7jaAqs
- Our group hanging in the stands watching. I'm in the orange shirt at the top left.

Maple Grove is my favorite track to go to, nice and clean and out of the way, and the people are pretty friendly.
