Pshh... an '05. '04s are where it's at... who needs a radio?

Seriously, beautiful car. Just don't do what every other STi owner does and run it low on oil and toast the seals on the snail. And keep in mind the head gaskets tend to go out around 70k miles.

WUT?! Where did you get this headgasket information?

I haven't read about common headgasket issues since the <01 2.5rs

That. Or maybe it's from the fact that I'm a Subaru Tech at a Subaru dealership. One or the other, I can't remember which.

Anyway, the 70k mile thing is pretty much the earliest you'll see them start leaking. Some make it a lot further than 70k, some don't. They usually leak externally before they develop internal leaks, so it's pretty easy to spot a blown gasket early.

I mean... you can be a ****in **** about it, or you can carry on a conversation with some good ol' fashioned facts like a normal person... either way.

It was a simple question. In my experience, I haven't seen this as a common enough issue to be too worried about.

One last thing. The last Subaru Tech that worked on my car at a Subaru Dealership wasn't even intelligent enough to take my door card off in search of an electrical issue I'd had. (I did take it off, and was done fixing an issue that took him 3 hours to no avail, in less than 30 minutes). Sorry, but I'm not going to assume that just because they work there, they are the know all masters of Subawrooz

Now lets all stop dumping on Tyler's thread. He's pretty stoked about the pick up, I think we should be equally stoked for him.

Chill the f*ck out. The first paragraph was directed at 94, not you. In case you didn't notice, I clarified the whole 70k thing in the second paragraph.

Didn't you end up paying a lot of money to have them figure out nothing was wrong?

Kthxbye

On another note....On Thursday I am going to check out some 17" BBS wheels that will have snow tires put on them by the hit of the first major snowfall. I am picking up some springs, maybe struts, and some Rally Armor Mud Flaps and will be installing these next weekend up in Grand Rapids. I am waiting to hear back from Ed (the tuner) in California, but I met a local guy who does tuning as well.

I haven't been able to get more pics of the rear since its been either 1) raining or 2) too dark. They are coming though. I absolutely love this car as well...it pulls a lot harder than a 10 psi b series turbo civic. I was putting down around 250 with my Civic, but this STi is a whole-nother animal. Maybe some video feed to come in two weeks.
