look, even if you are a skater, you still have to stand back and admit that a pretty damn high percentage of them are burnouts who will live in Moms basement till their late 20s, not providing ANYTHING to society. the same as we civic people have to realize that a too high percentage of civic "enthusiasts" are ricers, and they make us all look bad. it doesnt make us all bad, but lumps us into stereotypes anyway. stereotypes didnt come from nowhere

 

Well, I'll give you this, "burnout losers" are to skateboarding, what Ricers are to tuning. The difference is drive. A lot of skaters i know/grew up with, are the most dedicated dudes I've ever met. They have goals and do what it takes to achieve them, no matter what. Yes, there are a lot of guys living in mommy's basement smoking their lives away, but those are called stoners, not skaters. Skaters have been lumped in with hippies and losers of all kinds, and its really sad. Saying that this reflects the behavior of the "majority" of skaters, is kind of ignorant.

 

Thats because the man is trying to bring us down.

 

i've been a devoted skater for 4-5 years now. but i also happen to be a senior designer on an international robotic engineering team that competes against all graduate students (oh yea, did i meantion i'm still in highschool?). guess that makes me an f'ing loser thats unmotivated and going nowhere, jackass...
