YES! I'M A HOMO-NER! (New Pics last page 8-16-2011)
Here it is, the biggest of all updates thus far. We've finally got a respectable looking house!! All new vinyl siding to match the new windows. Soffits, fascia, and doors all wrapped in aluminum. We are STOKED, it's like coming home to a brand new house. Enough babble, pics...
Here are a few before and afters:

Couple shots of the backyard area.

Despite being buried even further into debt, we are really happy with the results. Have a few odds and ends jobs coming up (deck, front porch, etc..). Everytime you make something look awesome, it makes something else look like ****, haha. Never ending battle

Nice job and don't worry about the debt. You just added $20,000 to $30,000 worth of value to your home when you sell it, thanks to the new vinyl siding.
Go to your local garden nursery and buy some new colorful shrubs and place them in your front garden to add even more curb appeal to your house. That way, if you ever do sell, buyers will fall in love with your house just driving by.
If you can afford it, buy a taller-growing, ornamental shrub and plant it in the front garden to the right of your living room windows to fill in some of the dead space. You're gonna be the envy of your neighborhood after its all done.

This is what it looks like when everything is grown in and bloomin'.

Definitely tossing around the idea of a couple shrubs on either side of the main window, but we need to find just the right shrub. Don't want to end up with this BS again (shot taken when we bought the house):

I appreciate all the comments guys. I've pretty much made peace with the financial part of it, I just get a different feeling coming home every day now. It'll certainly be worthwhile when we sell it in a few years.
Lookin good peg, love the brick.
I dig those shrubs byers but they're a bit bigger than we're looking for. We bought my mom a really sweet looking shrub for Mother's Day this year, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I believe it was a Ficus of some sort, had a braided type stalk, hard to explain. Anyway, we're thinking something along those lines, something that'll only get to be about 5'6' tall
