Default 16's, how low?

well for some reason the search isnt working today, an explanation is prolly somewhere but i just wanted to note that so i dont get ripped a new one. Basically i made some poor choices with suspension setup and im now trying to fix it. I bought dumb ebay coilovers (i kno i kno) and surprise! they suck........so this time around im looking to do it right the first time.....oops i mean the second time...and not have to worry about it agn. Im thinking lowering springs this time instead of the whole coilover concept, but i still want the lowest possible drop. Now if im not mistaken the lowest i can get is 2.5 with skunk2? I could be wrong but thats as low as ive seen. Also, as you can see im currently rockin steelies, which i will soon be changing to some 16's once i get this suspension all fixed. So, can i be sure to have no rubbing problems with 16's and the 2.5 drop?, my guess is yes it will be fine , but i just want to make sure i dont have MORE problems. The guy across the street from me (doesnt speak english so i cant even ask him) has some springs that go low enough to tuck his 16's, thats what i want yet i dont think the 2.5 drop will do that? i kno im kinda jumpin around so pick and choose what you feel like answering lol thank you my people

i say get the skunk2 lowering package (coilovers), that way you can adjust the height since you don't have an idea of what you quite want yet. if you go 2.5, it's a must for front and rear camber setup, if you're going with skunk2, i'd also suggest just going ahead and swapping everything out at once, if you don't fix the camber and toe immediately, you be going bald in no time. lol

I just went with coilover springs as opposed to full coilover, because I don't own a money tree, and bought skunk2 camber kits. It came out to about $450. I don't know if that's good or bad, but for my budget, it seemed fine.

Why does it have to be so low, are you track racing this car? Or do you just think it looks cool to be "slammed"?

Tracking a car with a cheaped out setup? I highly doubt it.

It's just something some people like to do.

well, to get that kind of drop, you need that kind of money, if you want cheap, then get a set of springs with an inch or so drop

well the guy at the shop is convinced ill be happy with just some new shocks since mine are currently blown. Since the ride is only bad when i hit potholes because i bounce, i think ill be happy with just new shocks and my already installed bomz too. And the handling is so good with them id be unhappy losing it to some less-stiff springs lol Ill just put all the money into some high quality shocks.........

i wish the roads where i live were good enough to lower my car to a preferred hight. the roads here are soooo crappy, so lowering it is out of hte question. i do plan on getting 17" rims and a lip kit, and if i need to lower it a bit, il worry about it later haha
