Default 1996 Civic Rotors

How are the rotors on a '96 Civic attached? Are they pressed in hydraulically or attached with a bolt?

Has anyone replaced these, how difficult was the job?

Thanks,

Huh? its two small screws on the rotor behind the wheel. what bolt are you looking at in the center? oh, and if you havent had them off before, you will probably need an impact screwdriver to loosen them.

whoops, I meant one bolt in the center of the rotor with TWO smaller bolts. They are in between the 4 bolts for the wheel. You won't need an impact wrench. If they are stuck, just take a punch or screwdriver and hammer it into the bolt head. Then you will be able to twist it off.

not an impact wrench, an impact screwdriver. it twists when you hit it with a hammer, that way you are pushing it into the screw, and it wont strip it out. sometimes the other way works, but this always does.

Sometimes those things get really stuck so if you if the impact screwdriver isn't going to work it is ok to drill into those. The only thing those two screws do is hold the rotors in place on the assembly line. The reason I posted that is that I had the same problem on my HB and I broke impact wrench thying to loosen those. So I used the torch to hammer them out.

o, sorry wasnt paying attention.. I saw impact and thought wrench . most people don't have impact screwdriver.. i know i don't. If i can't get a screw using punches, taps, etc. I just end up drilling them out..
