i have an 01 civic that i bought used and the warranty is long gone. ive read that honda knows that they messed up and will replace the suspension free of charge. will they do mine without a warranty?

 

where did you read that?? I haven't heard anything about it.

There's a lot of hearsay in that thread; on top of the fact that it's four years old and the cars were under warranty at that point. You could give it a shot, but given the fact that shocks are a wear item, and they were not recalled, you'll probably have a tough time getting anything replaced for free.

 

yeah thats what i figured, but hearsay or not, in one of the posts in that thread someone mentioned a clunk or pop when they turned right. im having the exact same problem. not to mention the springs are way too soft.
