Default 95 civic rear brake mounting plates rotting away

Help! My 95 civic with 308K miles is running fine, but the rear brake mounting plates are disintigrating, and my mechanic says they are nowhere to be found, new or used. I've done some internet hunting of auto salvage yards, but no luck. Any suggestiolns?

I assume you're talking about rear drums? If so, are you talking about the backing plate (what the shoes and brake cylinder mount to)?

Assuming that's the case, you should be able to find them at junkyards (you-pulls would be your best bet), but Honda should still carry them; I doubt any dealerships would carry them in-stock, but they should still be able to order them.

No, I'm talking about the piece of metal on which the brake cylinder is mounted. The wheel suspension in just carward of it and the brake drum is just whell waqrd of it.
