96 Civic Brake Lines
I am investigating a broken (rusted) brake line in my wife's 96 Civic EX. The break appears to be in one of the lines running to the rear approx at the hinge point of the rear door. The brake lines seem to run along with the fuel lines down the length of the car held in place (or at least protected) by a heavy plastic webbing. There are five lines; the outer on the driver side and the two outer on the passenger's side appear to be quite rusted. The remaining two inner lines are remarkably rust free. I have not carefully traced the lines to their origins, but based on the failure, I assume that the 3 outer lines are brake and the two inner are fuel. Can anyone confirm this?
It looks like removing the plastic webbing will not be hard, the bolts broke loose easily. But given the fragility of the 3 rusty lines, I am concerned that any poking will cause more breakage. Does anyone have experience with this and could provide some guidance?
Thanks

The diagram that i'm looking at is a little unclear, but it looks like there are only 2 brake lines going to the back of the car. They run along the driver's side of the car. This picture does not show fuel lines, but i think that the 2 brake lines run next to each other.

Re your diagram showing two lines. I do not have a service manual. I tried using an on-line manual; it was not very clear, but appeared to show two rear lines for an ABS car.
After a bit of thought, I can explain the 5 lines. Two are brake lines (LR and RR) and are the size one expects. The other 3 are a bit larger and all are fuel lines: supply, return and vent. So now I know what is there, but removing the plastic webbing and effecting a repair will be tricky.
Hi MWE
I just had the same problem with my 96 Civic. I was intrested in how you resolved it? I got a quote from the dealer for the 5 line set at over $1000!! The way the rust looks if I touch any of then I will have to replace them all. I did find them online for $400.
Thanks
JB
