Default 97 lx with 18 inches.. need correct tires

ok so i have a 97 civic, lx, with 18 inch wheels. right now the tires rub while turning, or basic acceleration/deceleration. its bad. right now the tires are 225/40/R18.

I was told by a local tire retailer that if i put a set of 215/35/R18, it would ride with no rubbing and fit correctly.

any input is greatly appreciated.

well that is the recomended tire size for 18s... as long as your stock suspension is stock height it shouldnt be a problem... but if your lowered its a whole nother ballgame.....

Thats the right tire size. I had 18s on my honda and I had no rubbing or anything but as a2b said if your lower it then it will be different.
