Default ABS Problems

Hey All, new poster... 2004 Honda Civic GX

The other day I was out driving and while braking the ABS system went off. Other than the usual ABS noise, there was a loud screatching noise from the front ABS system (front left i believe) ABS light came on and stayed on for the rest of the trip home. Also the noise continued a few seconds after the car had come to a stop. Also the front left ABS system is making noise just after start up in the mornings while making a turn out of the parking spot (left if it matters).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated..

Cheers

The ABS light and screeching noise may be separate.

Regarding the ABS light, check whether the brake fluid in the reservoir of the master cylinder is low. If the level is fine, take the car to the dealer to retrieve the ABS trouble code.

Regarding the screeching, check whether the brake pads are worn thin. In this case, the brake pad wear indicator will make a metallic screeching noise to alert you to change the pads.
