a few days ago i just installed a new steering rack on my civic. the mechanic told me i need to get it aligned . if i left the car unaligned for a month or so would it damage anything on my car?

It shouldn't damage your car. A big thing that alignments are used for is to help tire wear

Your steering may be messed up, your car may pull to one side, and it could destroy your tires pretty quickly.
