Default Axles suck.

So my car makes horrid noises now. Turns out my axle has pretty much s*** the bed. Both cvs are p[retty much toast so its guna be cheaper to swap the whole thing I'm getting one for about 100 tomarrow then my friends dad(head hyannis landrover machanic) is guna do it tomarrow night. So I'm spending about 200 all togetehr wich isn't bad. But I had saved that up for tint and now its going away, so I'm bummed out. [sm=smiley19.gif]

save some money and DIY, it's not that hard. Just go rent the tool pictured below(ball joint puller) and the axle nut socketfrom autozone, and it's smoooth sailin.

Okay so axles don't suck that bad. I got a brand new one mad cheap and got it installed. I only paid 110 all together. So I'm happy, and I didn't even have to do it myself.

guys you can do both sides for around a hundred dollars if you do it yourself. Each axle is only 50-60 bucks for one with a lifetime warranty and it will take you less than an hour per side.

lol honestly, ive learned something over the past few months. If you want a project, do it yourself.........if you want something fixed with no hassles.....get it done professionally the first time. It was supposed to only take about 3 hours to do my coilovers but the bolt seized and resulted in me being civ-less for 3 days. If, i had the time for error lol or the patience for learning....id undoubtedly do it myself.....mayb even if it was the beggining of the summer........but work/school/time blllah blaaah........id rather spend the 75 on labor charge and be done with it lol

I guess I understand that, but suspension is KNOWN to have those bolt issues, and everyone around will tell you that, hell I had four seized bolts and was out for two weeks, but axles are KNOWN to be a pretty easy diy, so there's kinda a big difference. Hell, that's why a lot of shops will just STOP when they get to that point on the suspension, many places won't do it. But I guess I understand you wanting to avoid the hassle.

Yeah in my case it wasn't much for either so I had it done. And after your coilover insident brocton (resulting in needing to get a whole new suspension asap) I can see why you would want it done, lol.
