I'll be tackling this again tomorrow after work. Check back for live updates from my driveway. Yeah, I moved my wireless access point so I can check HCF while I am working on my car.

if your advice is "just change the damn pads and rotors already" then, good!
If it sounds like something other than "pad chatter" please let me know. Thanks!

Annoying, isn't it?!
I'll be changing the pads and rotors on Saturday (and I mean it this time) and if that does not solve the problem I'm going to freaking die because I have to drive to Ohio next weekend.

Thanks for listening everyone

The pads should be okay when you buy them, just make sure you don't get any grease or anything like that on the surface of them.

The rotors......clean any oil off with brake cleaner. (They usually ship em with a coating of oil to prevent rusting.) Don't skimp on the brake cleaner! Then take some sandpaper (not too smooth, maybe around 100-120 grit) and just lightly rough up the surfaces of the rotors by hand. Then clean them off again with some brake cleaner, and then install them.

Make sure when you reinstall the calipers that you lube any bushings that the calipers slide on. (if your model has them)

yeah, there are two rods that the bolts that hold your calipers bolts to, and you need to pull those out and put brake grease on them. you can usually buy a little packet of it for 99 cents at autozone or wherever. but i am leaning toward a possible rubbing issue with the snow/dust sheilds on the inside of the rotors. its that really thin metal plate that goes all the way around the back of the rotor to keep snow out of the back of the wheels, and to keep the brake dust from blowing out onto the wheels as bad. it kinda sounds "tinny" like that really thin metal.
