Default Brake Swap 99 DX Hatch

Hey, got a 99 civic DX hatch and looking to upgrade brakes but, dont got 2k to spend on big brake kit.. Having very hard time stopping quickly and have been looking into possible swaps from other Civs/Tegs.. Does anyone know or has anyone swapped break system from a Civic SI to a DX/CX model or even from a GSR.. I have seen alot of posts all the way to last year where people have asked similar questions but no responses.. Also i have looked at the brembo rotors and some ceramic pads but would this combined with changing to SS brake lines give me the stopping power im looking for? If anyone has any input on brake setup for under 1k that has worked well ,, or a link that might have some other options to brake kits.. please lemme know.. Thanks

You can get a Wilwood kit for around $700. Also, you can get a rear disk conversion which i've heard helps alot. If you haven't changed your brake fluid in a while, it might help to change it. Check the pads and shoes for wear.

Shows as OE with 240 mm rotors.. are these the same for all civic models within those years? or do they have a diagram somewhere that might have this info?

I think what you were looking at was a big rotor kit. It is pretty much a rotor and a bracket that allows you to install a bigger rotor onto your stock caliper. For better braking, your gonna want bigger rotors and bigger calipers as well. I was talking about this which is bigger calipers and bigger rotors. They have brembo big brake kits as well, but they are $1700.
