Default brake wear

after growing tired of hearing my brakes squeal, i decided to replace the pads last night. after removing the old ones, i noticed that both pads for each side were wearing uneven. i was just curious as to what would cause this. they were the original pads from honda. also, i had noticed a sort of grinding sound coming from the right front whenever i would turn slightly and brake at the same time...dunno if that could have anything to do with it. any input is appreciated!

Could be a wheel bearing? A shop told me that was the reason my rotors were wearing unevenly . . . it's a possibility.

How many miles are on your car?

If the wheel bearings are bad, whenever you go over 30MPH you will hear an abnormal noise from the wheel. I don't get how a bad wheel bearing could cause uneven pad wear, some1 wanna explain that?

now that I think about it . . . I don't know.

Did you regrease the caliper pins? They should both be sliding smoothly. If not, that could cause the pads to wear unevenly

didn't regrease the pins...

my car just turned over 61k. both sides wore the same way: the inside pad wore at a slant and the outside pad wore at the opposite slant....if that makes any sense. i figure i'll give the new pads a little bit of wear and then remove them to see if they are uneven too.
