nice writeup. Ill have a few pics of an install on mine soon too, but I suggest before you lift the car, you take the nut off of the top of the shock, then when you lift the car, the springs are already loose, so it saves you from messing with the compressor at least once.

Nice writeup sniper. I will hopefully be getting a new suspension setup soon........I gotta get the 5 speed swap done first though.

here's a question: if I were only changing the springs, and reusing the stock shocks, would I need to detach the shock from the lower control arm? or just detach it from the upper mounting point?

forty, since you're here, what was the bolt/bushing that gave you trouble?

You will have to take the strut out to install a new spring. If you detach it from the upper mount, how will you get the spring out? You prolly will not have enough clearance between the strut and the upper strut tower. Even the spring compressed is pretty big. It will be shorter, but its diameter will still be the same. I've also never heard of anyone changing the spring w/o removing the strut.

I wasn't trying to flame or anything, jus pointing out why it wouldn't work.

It was the Drivers side Rear LCA bolt/bushing. The one that holds the shock to the LCA. PB Blaster and an impact gun probably would have helped.
