do bump stops really need to be cut?
I got a 2000 civic and i got a pair of free brand new tein lowering springs cuz i did co-op at a performance shop, its a 1.7 drop in the front and 1.5 in the back, not to low but just noticable, anyways,i was reading the paper that comes with them and it says how much u need to cut the bump stop on different cars and it says that u have to cut mine. I was talking to the guy about it and he sead that when they put springs in, they dont cut the bump stop because it dosent do anything, he dident even no u had to cut them when i told him, what do u guys think? what is the point of cutting the bump stop?..thanks
you need to cut them if the spring manufacturer says to. if you dont, then when you hit a bump, the shock will hit on the bumpstop, and it will fell like you have WAY to stiff of springs. they need to be shorter to give you a little more travel in your shock.
ok i understand that u need to cut them and why , but if u dont want your car to bounce around alot then it would be better to only cut them a bit or not at all????
