EG and EK suspension differences
I know there is info on this because I have read it, but since most sites won't let you search for "EG" or "EK" I can't find what I need. I know the front struts are interchangeable, but I remember the rears need something modified to fit. What is it?
The reason I ask is because a local has a Koni/GC combo with only 5k miles on it for sale for $500, but its for an EG.

The front suspension is the same. The rear LCA's are slightly different though. Where the struts mount to the LCA's is wider for one generation than it is for the other, I can't remember which one is wider. I know a strut for one will fit the LCA for the other but the other won't fit the one, I just can't remember which is which.

I've read multiple times the EG's will fit the EK's. I just can't remember how. I'm thinking you have to add a washer or two to the EG strut to fit the smaller EK LCA. But I want to know for sure before I spend $500 obviously. I thought I remembered Addiction explaining this once before but couldn't find the thread.

The fronts are the same... as reaper said. The rears of an EG are 4mm wider.
EKs use 10x80 bolts on the LCA (3 on both, 6 total)
EGs use 10x80 bolts on the LCA to the trailing arm, and to the subframe, a 10x84 bolt is used for the strut to LCA part.
Check out the part numbers and size information on hondapartsdeals.com. But I actually had to do this research for work a month or two ago to be honest.

Yea, the information that was posted in this thread is correct.
I have a related question to add to this discussion if OP does not mind...
I have noticed that it appears EK LCAs have a more acute angle in the kink of the LCA than that of an EG LCA. What is the reason for that? Can EK LCAs be used on an EG and vice versa? (assuming that the person doing this already has taken care of the shock bracket problem)
Or am I wrong and there really is not a difference?

I know the aftermarket LCAs are interchangeable, not sure if the stocks are the same though.
So all I should have to do is use washers to make up the 4mm difference and I should be good then...

Yup.
Stu, I believe an OEM EG LCA would work on an EK and vice versa. If there is a difference and the EK has a sharper angle to it, I think it would induce more positive camber/less negative camber if installed on an EG. Without an EG and a set of EK LCAs to actually test it on, it's all speculation though.
