Default front struts went bad 01 civic ex coupe

Well after my mechanic told me how much it would be to replace my two front struts I decided to replace them myself with something aftermarket. Now first can anyone recommend a good kit for me and also how hard would this be for someone with a diy manual, tools, and with some basic mechanical skill.

Definitely a DIY job. Rent for free the spring compressor tool at your local auto parts store. If you don't already have it, download the 01 Civic service manual at the link in my signature.

could you recommend a suspension kit to use, I drive very aggressively so improved handling is on the top of my list right above a smooth ride

I have a 2001 civic myself, ex coupe, and I replaced my own struts and spring.
It was really not difficult at all, and I had no prior experience with suspension work.
I replaced mine with Tokico HPs and Tein S-Techs.
They feel great and improved the handling.
I PM'd you the DIY that I used.
It made it an extremely easy process.
If you have any questions feel free to ask me!

Default 2001 Civic Shocks

I bought all four shocks for my 2001 Civic for $150 at apxautoparts.com. Here is the link for their civic shocks.

I know you can rent the spring compressors but I bought those for like $10 at harbor freight. You have to have atleast two of them so that you can compress the spring evenly.
