Default How to tell if original tires on vehicle?

I have a 94 Civic DX and I'm looking to take it on a cross country trip. It has 142,000 miles on it but still in pretty good shape and I'm trying to do as much as I can to get it ready. I've replaces the spark plugs and I am getting an alignment, oil change and the belts changed out next weekend. My tires still have a lot of tread but I'm interested if they are the originals because everything else I have replaced seems to have been. Can anyone tell me what tires came on this car when it originally came out?

doubt they are though, 14 years old and near 150,000 miles they would be falling off the rims

The Tirerack is a great source of info as far as anything related to tires. If you punch in your car's info, you will see the OEM tire and wheel sizes. Your tires are NOT the originals, but if they are more than 5 years old, examine them carefully to see if there are any dry-rot cracks. Also, make sure your spare tire is in good shape and inflated to the proper pressure.

ya thiers numbers on the tires.... that you can take your car to the tire shop and have them read the numbers off the tires to see how old they are and tell ya if they are in good condition or not.....
but basicaly if they are cracked up on the sides..... probably needs to be replaced.... if no cracks and good thread they should be good....

they are the pros.... as them to check them out... and just be sure to have your spare tire and tools and make sure the spare tire is aired up... but if its completly flat..... then check it for leaks! air it up and use some soapy water and pour it all over the tire front and back and if it blows bubbles.... well youll have to buy a new one
my spare tire looks brand new but has a pin hole in the sidewall so is trash
