RE: Hubs and bearings
ummm.. possible correction......honda's use that damn nut that you bend into the slots, but you will need two of those cuz they cant be reused.. i could be wrong about this. maybe they changed over, but my book says only one way for all civics..

RE: Hubs and bearings
Ok, I just talked to a local mechanic that I know really well and he said it would roughly run me under $200! Thank God. He said its my Cv joints and possibly my ball joints. I would have done all of it but I have no earthly idea how to do it. I dont normally do something by myself if I have to ask alot of questions. After all... this is a major part of the car we are talking about, if I f'd it up... I wouldnt be happy driving down the road. Thanks for all the help and advice!

The mech. looked at it and said it wasnt the cv joints or ball joints... he said those shouldnt go out for another 20k. He thinks its the motor mount(s) .... is that ringing a bell with any of you guys? Like I said, I hear a popping noise when I accelerate in a straight line... then the pops die down after 30 mph. But fortunatly motor mounts arent a bank buster either.

Well, after all of it, its down to 2 things... the tranny, or the axles. The mechanic is leaning hard toward the axle. He wants me to take it to a trany clinic to get a 2nd opinion... im starting to think the axle is in need, since most newer honda tranny's run around 200k b4 they crap out.
