Default Kyb gr-2?

Anyone tried these? I'm thinking about getting these with Eibach Sportlines from autopartsway.ca.

Also, the site has these for $94.95, whereas the only other shock absorbers they have are Koni ones for $530. Are KYBs really that bad or are Konis just that good? And is the price for just one, or a whole set?

If I'm going to be lowering my car, will I be needing to get upgraded struts as well as the springs and shocks?

Thanks

EDIT: My car is a 2004 Civic Si Coupe

KYB GR-2's aren't bad. They are cheaper because Koni Yellows and KYB GR-2s are uncomparable. GR-2's are OEM replacements, not made for lowering the car, and not adjustable (when I say this, I mean dampening force adjustment, not ride height). Koni Yellows are good to use with lowering springs or coilovers, and they are an upgrade from OEM. I believe they are adjustable. A more comparable shock would be the KYB AGX, which is adjustable and made to withstand being lowered. KYB AGX and Koni Yellows are performance shocks, KYB GR-2's are not. The Koni Yellows are somewhat better than the KYB AGX, but not by that much and IMO aren't worth an extra $150-200. KYB AGX are good.

What about Eiback shocks? I have them and they are perfectly matched to their springs.

If your going to be lowering your car, you should look into something else. If your wanting to stay cheap, Id say get some Tokico HPs. They are a good shock if you only plan on lowering an inch or two. I have had them on two different cars. The only experience I have had with Eibach Sportlines was on a 2g Eclipse. They rode smooth and were a comfortable ride. Not too stiff.

Sorry, I checked the tirerack and didn't see them listed for your car. Bilsteins, Konis and KYBs were listed, but if I were you, I'd ask the Eibach guys at

1-800-507-2338

Ask them what they'd recommend for matching shocks for the Sportlines for your car.

They should know what will work well with those springs.
