What if you only lower about an 1" or 1.5". Should you still upgrade the shocks?

Should you? Yes. Do you have to? No.

If you use a shock/strut that isn't meant to be lowered it will wear out faster, and more importantly it isn't gonna keep the wheel on the road like it should. It'll bounce and chatter.

I was looking at the megan racing coilovers, there cheap but good I heard. I have the money to get those now, but not the shocks. Would anyone recommend me putting these coilovers on now and in a month or two replace my shocks. I'll prolly get Tokico.

are you doing the install?...if yes then go ahead and put the coils on now, but be worned it is going to make your shocks go fast, mabey not so much with a little drop like 1.5, you can just ride out your stock shocks till they get bad then switch them...but if your paying someone to do the install then your better off wating 2 months till you have the cash to get the shocks or else its just going to cost you double the amount for the install..take them out, put back in,take out,put back in..

The spring controls the ride height....the strut controls the spring.....if you "upgrade" your springs....you should also do the same with your struts. The stock struts are designed to control a stock spring....
