Megan Racing Springs
Anybody running these springs? the spring rate is 280F/230R and the drop is 1.75" F/R.
I know that Megan is a company you might not want to put your money into with springs, but the same was said for skunk2 a couple of years ago. So, i beg of you, come into this thread with some tangible eveidence to back it up,before making a claim. No factless brand bashing.

I bought them anyway, a buddy of mine used to be a distributor for megan racing and said they were real good quality for the money. He had them on his GSR and loved them. I would take his word over most peoples, he has owned and tuned many Hondas and Acura's (GSR, CRX, Prelude) so he knows his stuff.
Finally got them installed a few days ago and i must say they are very nice and stiff. Not too stiff and they take the bumps and potholes around town pretty well. The car takes sweeping downhillturns and onramps/offramps quite well and with very little drama.
If you need to lower your car and your on a budget, i would recommend these springs. I haven't tested out any of the other brands but it is a definite upgrade from the stock springs. I am the kind of person that wanted a soft spring for comfort and i was originally gonna go with the H&R OE sport springs, but i went with these and am very happy.

^ Nice to know because i was really considering Megan racing springs......although i have alot of there products that they make for the 7th gen. but i was iffy on the springs for some reason. Thanks.
I'm kinda picky with what parts get put on my car cuz i have little money to fix it and i want it to perform it's best. so far these are great. I don't care if people say they are crap, i would like them to show me and incident where it proved to be crap. Say if it didn't perform well, What are you using your vehicle for and what can you gauge this by?
I've heard good and bad about megan racing and it seems that the good outweighs the bad so far. Most people seem to really like the megan racing hard rubber trailing arm bushing too, as an alternative to the polyurethane ones that have a tendency to bind during hard maneouvers. If they actually take the time to research and realize that their can be a problem with a poly trailing arm bushing, than it shows that they actually try to make a great product.

Here is 2 pics of the car with the drop. I know the car is dirty/beat up but it runs great and gets me around. It's also still in progress and is done with minimal money. I'm proud of it, it's my little sleeper, but now it's lowered and gives a bit of it away.
Hey nice looking drop koots, and nice Canadian geography in the background
That looks lower then 1.75" though, but mabey its different when done to a sedan. Whats your plans for it next?

Thanks, me and the Mrs. were out for a scenic drive and decided to snap a photo or two of the car. I was suprised by the drop actually, it has a nice and firm ride along with it, It gets a little bouncy over ripples at slow speeds (due to me using KYB GR-2's)but once the speed increases it is tight. I actually commented in another thread about a guy with a 2" drop on his car and told him mine seemed lower than his. mostly new parts in the car too, so the bushings on the front are pretty good and the rear control arms were replaced with the drop. Overall i'm happy that i took a chance with Megan Racing.
So far my plans are to get the rest of my mini-me parts together (only the small stuff left), trying to get some Fat Fives, SI wheels or GSR Blades for the summer but i might just get some new steelies to go auto-xing on. Get the rest of my strut bar set on, do a little body and paint work (rear bumper and chrome window trim and the spots where i have primer on it). Than i will spend the summer rebuilding the Y8 bottom end i have inthe backyard and get the parts for a 5 speed swap, so that i can convert to OBD-1, boost it and tune it.

those are a good set of plans then. Your car does look lower then alot but hey it looks nice! Those are the megan racing lowering springs you say? I might have to check them out
And that really is a scenic drive, I would like to get over that way in Canada someday to see the views and I actually have a few friends that have moved into that area from here.
