I wanted to get larger wheels and tires. But I really don't feel like getting new brakes. I wanted to get 17" wheels and 16" tires. But right now they're stock, 15" wheel and 14" tire. Is there any good looking wheel upgrades that I can do with 14" tires or should I just put in the extra money and get new brakes?

Look in my gallery, I have 16s, 14s were stock. I didn't upgrade the brakes. Yeah the rotor looks a little small now, but I don't think it looks TOO dorky.

also ^^^ what he said. If you have 15" wheels you have 15" tires

I heard that if you get larger wheels and they are 3% larger in diameter than the stock size, you may have brake failure. That was from 1010tires.com(someone on the forum told me to go there). And I got the wrong measurements, they are 14's (stupidity on my behalf). I would really like to get 16's. So should I without worrying about brake failure?
